ミキモト：真珠の養殖に世界で初めて成功した御木本幸吉が始めた真珠の宝石店。真珠の養殖に如何に苦労したかは教科書にも載ったことがある。華やかなショーウインドーの真珠の飾りを見ていると御木本幸吉がいかに苦労したかが、思い出される。

真珠はその美しさに上品さがあることから、冠婚葬祭に良く使用され、派手さが無いことから普段使いも出来て、多くの人々に親しまれている。値段もそれ程高くないので、手元に置いておくことが望まれる。

Mikimoto: A pearl jewelry store started by Kokichi Mikimoto, who was the first in the world to successfully cultivate pearls. His difficulties in cultivating pearls have even been described in textbooks. Looking at the gorgeous pearl decorations in the show windows reminds me of the hardships Kokichi Mikimoto had to endure.
