馬場先門より皇居に入った場合は、まっすぐ皇居に向かった方向、行幸通からは内堀通で左折、馬場先門よりの大通を右折することになる。

皇居前広場から正門を経て宮殿へ至る濠に二つの橋が架かっており､手前の橋が｢正門石橋｣､奥の橋が｢正門鉄橋｣です。｢二重橋｣は一般にこの二つの橋を総称して言われていますが､厳密には奥の橋を指します｡　（環境省皇居外苑HPより）

If you enter the Imperial Palace from Babasakimon Gate, go straight towards the Imperial Palace, turn left at Uchibori-dori from Gyoko-dori, and turn right at broad street from Babasakimon-mon.

Two bridges span the moat that leads from the plaza in front of the Imperial Palace to the palace via the main gate.The bridge in the foreground is the ``Seimon Stone Bridge'' and the bridge in the back is the ``Seimon Iron Bridge.'' "Nijubashi(double bridges)" is generally referred to as a generic term for these two bridges, but strictly speaking it refers to the bridge in the back.
